NSAA HISTORY
March, 1956
The year 1956 marked the first high school graduation ceremonies of Nazareth School. The maiden event was held inside the institution's modest auditorium where seven (7) graduates received their diplomas - a rite of passage. Consequently, they became the first alumnae of the School. The honorees were:
- Agustina Antolin
- Aurora Cacanando
- Pia Espina
- Gloria Montesa
- Norma Perez
- Grace Plazo
- Alma Samano
November 25, 1962
A little over six years from the School's first momentous affair, an equally significant activity unfolded - the first alumnae homecoming. The day-long festivities were held inside the school's quadrangle, though. shorn of grandeur was nevertheless highly successful. Gratitude should be bestowed in great measure to the untiring efforts of Sr. Maria Hernandez, F.I. and Sr. Elena Parcon, F.I., then the Directress. and Principal, respectively. The homecoming served as the vehicle in fostering better personal relationships among the alumnae. In fact, the same spirit catalyzed them to constitute the school's organization of graduates, otherwise known as the Alumnae Association. The
first set of officers for the 1962 - 1963 term follows:
| President | Merceditas Sison |
| Vice-President | PomposaRedondo |
| Secretary | Clotilde Salmon |
| Treasurer | Cristeta Bustamante |
| P. R.O. | Victoria Bernardo |
April, 1989
The Alumni Homecoming soon developed as one of the School's regular annual activities. With a succession of leadership spanning over 30 years, the Association displayed an unusual dedication to the school's endeavors and always with a vision for future improvements. Hence, during the 33rd
Homecoming in April, 1989, the alumni saw the birth of the Association's Newsletter. It was published and put into circulation during the administration of its incumbent President, Ruth Rana-Padilla Class of 70. The Newsletter is a combination of efforts extended by the alumni and other contributors.
The Association provides a cheerful witness to the success stories of alumni in different career pursuits and in recognition for the achievements of its outstanding members, a committee was formed for the first time by the Association and subsequently convened to choose and confer awards of appreciation. Based on mutually accepted criteria, the screening process was activated. A thorough deliberation on the matter yielded the selection of the Most Outstanding Alumni.
March, 1990
The Administration decided to transcend its exclusivity policy by admitting male students/enrollees. This does not detract from its avowed social obligation to cultivate and promote academic excellence. Thus in the March, 1990 graduation exercise, the first male secondary school graduate, Allan C. Ordanza, marched with 'his female co-graduates. He now counts himself an association member.
June 15, 1993
The Nazareth organization of alumni evolved from a mere association into a non-profit, non-stock corporation. The move was precipitated by the objective of being recognized as a legal and juridical entity. Nine members of the Association joined hands and signed the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws to form what is now known as the NAZARETH SCHOOL ALUMNI (nee ALUMNAE) ASSOCIATION. INC. (NSAA). which was registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission on June 15, 1993.
