Scholarship Foundation

History:
January, 1988
The Nazareth School Alumnae Association initially conceptualized as a simple pet project the grant of scholarship to poor but deserving high school students of Nazareth School under the initiative of Srs. Maria Hernandez, F.I. and Elena Parcon, F.l., Directress and Principal, respectively, under the administration of Ruth Rana-Padilla.
June, 1988
The first scholarship grant was made possible under the chairmanship of Norma Ipac-Alarcon through its principal sponsors, Metrobank, Unionbank, Meralco and the Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
Aug. 25,1993 The Foundation was made an independent body separate and distinct from the NSAA when it was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Feb. 22, 1997 Formal launching of the Foundation, held at the New World Hotel, coinciding with Nazareth School's Golden Anniversary Celebration and 41st Alumni Homecoming.

 

Objectives and Coverage:

  1. To provide financial aid to poor but deserving high school students of Nazareth School to enable them to complete their secondary studies;
  2. To encourage alumni to participate in the program by:
    • means of contributions, pledges or donations as part of their outreach Christian activity;
    • recommending one (1) deserving student to avail of any of the following types of scholarship:
      • Full Scholarship - where tuition and miscellaneous fees, and books shall be provided by the Scholarship Committee for the full High School course;
      • Half Scholarship - where tuition shall be provided by the Scholarship Committee for the full High School course;
      • Grant-in-Aid - where tuition and miscellaneous fees shall be provided by the Scholarship Committee on a yearly basis.
